Hospices can provide care either through an in-patient unit, day care or through care in the patients home. Sadly, a diagnosis of mesothelioma often means that palliative care is required during the advanced stages. If you want to know more about a Hospice near you then do get in touch with us here at AASC -Email: firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 0292 0363 550
Hospices generally rely upon charitable donations as do we at AASC, to ensure that they can provide regular care. If a person diagnosed with mesothelioma, or their family is successful with a claim for compensation then a claim can also be made for the cost of the care provided by the Hospice. The Hospice cannot make a claim directly, the family or mesothelioma victim need to pursue a claim. The cost of care is included in the general claim and any payment recovered can be paid to the Hospice at the conclusion of the case. The claim made for Hospice care will not affect the compensation made to a mesothelioma family. Hospices take note – cases of mesothelioma can take a while to resolve as claims can be made up to three years after death of mesothelioma patient – so do keep hold of mesothelioma records if there are ongoing cases or if there is a possibility that a claim can be made. Here at AASC we can give you more information on this.
