Training

Training

It is a legal requirement that employers must offer training to all those who may come into contact with asbestos. It is also important that if such training has been received that appropriate certificates are produced which demonstrate that such training has been received.  Even more important that if you have received training that you follow the guidelines of that training – you cannot afford to take shortcuts!

Independent Asbestos Training Providers (IATP) – a not for profit organisation providing comprehensive list of independent asbestos training providers in the United Kingdom.

The United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association (UKATA)  sets standards for training and ensures that its members reach those standards.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) provides guidance and training packages and identifies different levels of training specific to the tasks being undertaken.
