Asia – Thailand, World Asbestos Report

The casual traveler is unlikely to come across dangerous sources of asbestos while in Thailand. However, travelers should exercise caution around construction or renovation sites, as the mixture and shaping of asbestos-containing materials can release deadly fibers into the air. Hotel rooms should be in good repair, with no damaged or exposed insulation materials in sight; if you are uncomfortable with the condition of the room, ask for another or consider switching hotels.
